I checked out the buzzy new show “13 Reasons Why” on Netflix, and this is one I’m definitely going to finish.

It is being talked about all over the place, and for good reason. Its acting and production are impressive, and it is unlike any other show I’ve seen.

The show, based on the 2007 of the same title by Jay Asher, tells the story of a high school girl (Hannah) who has chosen to end her own life. She leaves behind cassette tapes to particular people explaining why, main character Clay Jensen being one of them.

The show boasts executive producer Selena Gomez, and some familiar faces in the cast, including Kate Walsh as Hannah’s mom.

The premise is dark, but the show feels lighter when you’re watching it.

It was interesting discussing the show on myTalk 107.1 today, and hearing from parents and teachers how it relates to the lives of high schoolers today, in that it deals with the prominence of technology, bullying and taking responsibility for your actions.

I give the first episode 4/5 Garys, and I’ll let you know how I like the rest.

Have you checked out 13 Reasons Why? What did you think?
