Ryan Phillippe’s spokesperson denies domestic violence claims

Ryan Phillippe’s spokesperson is denying accusations he physically abused his ex-girlfriend.

Elsie Hewitt filed a lawsuit against the actor on Monday (18Sep17), claiming he assaulted her over the summer.

According to TMZ, Hewitt claims she went to Ryan’s house in July (17) to retrieve her items following their breakup and found the actor extremely intoxicated.

The model claims she tried to talk to Phillippe, but he became violent and left her with bruises after allegedly grabbing her and throwing her down a flight of stairs – twice, while yelling, “Get the f**k out of my house…”

Hewitt was reportedly hospitalized for injuries she sustained from her alleged altercation with her ex and subsequently obtained a temporary restraining order against Ryan, which expired a few days later.

Sources tell the news outlet the Los Angeles City Attorney refused to prosecute the actor after investigating the incident.

A spokesperson for Phillippe has now issued a statement to TMZ, denying the claims made against the actor by his ex.

“As a staunch advocate for the health, well-being and equality of women, Ryan is completely devastated that these false allegations have been made and circulated,” the spokesperson tells TMZ. “Domestic violence is an incredibly serious issue and fabricated and proven false claims should not be used to unjustly slander the falsely accused.”

Hewitt is seeking more than $1 million in damages.

Ryan and Elsie were first linked romantically in April (17) when they were spotted together at the Coachella festival in California. She joined him for lunch a few days later.
