Sean Hayes has married his boyfriend of eight years.
The 44-year-old Will & Grace favourite confirmed his engagement to music producer and composer Scott Icenogle on October 27. And now the couple have tied the knot.
Taking to Twitter on Thursday, the comedic actor shared his exciting news with friends and fans.
“Here’s a #TBT photo of Scotty and me getting married last week,” he wrote on the social networking platform. “Took us 8 years but we did it!”
The announcement was accompanied by a loved-up photo of the pair laughing together, on what was presumably their wedding day.
And although their engagement was only confirmed last month, they had in fact planned to say their vows for a long time.
“They are not yet married but they have been engaged for quite some time,” Sean’s rep told website RumorFix.
The star rose to fame on hit NBC series Will & Grace, which aired from 1998 until 2006. His role of Will’s gay best friend Jack McFarland earned him an Emmy Award as well as numerous SAG Awards.
However, it wasn’t until 2010 that Sean officially came out as gay during an interview with The Advocate. Prior to that, he kept his private life quiet.
Whilst Sean’s personal life is obviously going well, he’s had a disappointment on the professional front. On November 15, it was announced his current series The Millers was cancelled by CBS.
Clearly eager to move on from the bad news, Sean shared a hilarious video of himself dancing to Taylor Swift’s Shake It Off while eating toast.1
