Shia LaBeouf suffers bloody injury on set

Shia LeBeouf

Shia LaBeouf was hospitalized with a head injury after a stunt went wrong on Tuesday.

The 29-year-old actor had been shooting new movie American Honey in North Dakota when the accident occurred.

TMZ claims the scene required Shia to put his head through a glass window.

However, when the stunt went wrong, Shia was rushed to hospital to be treated for his injuries.

According to reports, the actor received 20 stitches and 13 staples to his head but his representative said on Wednesday that it was all just a precautionary measure.

“Shia LaBeouf sustained minimal injuries late last night on the set of his current film, AMERICAN HONEY,” they said in a statement to “As protocol, production sought out medical attention and Shia received stitches on his hand and for a laceration on his head. He is due back on set tomorrow.”

American Honey, directed and written by Andrea Arnold, tells the story of a teenager who gets caught up in a web of hard partying and young love after joining a magazine sales crew.

It also stars Susan Dooling, Arielle Holmes and McCaul Lombardi.

Shia is known to go into roles head on, and in an interview last year, Scott Eastwood opened up about working with Shia on the World War II film Fury.

Shia went to great lengths to get into character as Boyd ‘Bible’ Swan for the film, which followed a crew of American soldiers in a tank as they completed deadly missions.

Scott appeared as Sergeant Miles in the picture and found working with Shia, who slashed his own face and had a tooth removed for the part, incredibly difficult.

“Oh yeah. Complete pain in the ass. It’s too bad, he’s a great actor, but he’s shi*ting his career away,” he told
