Stephanie’s Summer Margarita Recipes

I have been experimenting with Margaritas and ran across this version with Cilantro.

Some people have an aversion to Cilantro and think it tastes like soap – others of us think it tastes like a spring morning feels. I am the latter.

  • 1 1/2 ounces fresh lime juice
  • 1 1/2  ounces tequila blanco
  • 1 ounce simple syrup
  • ¼ cup fresh cilantro leaves with tender stems

Another way to twist this Margarita happened when I was at the cabin, stuck on an island without a boat and only had mint. Thus the mint Margarita:

  • 2 ounces fresh lime juice
  • 2 ounces tequila blanco
  •  1/2 ounce simple syrup
  • ¼ cup fresh Mint leaves muddled with 1 Teaspoon Sugar

Lastly, but not least by any means is the Grapefuit Margarita. This drink is great on its own but it really gets kicked up a notch when you line the rim with Tanjin, a Mexican spice that has chilies, citrus and salt. This is my new favorite drink of the summer.

  • 2 ounces fresh lime juice
  • 3 oz fresh Grapefruit juice
  • 2 ounces tequila blanco
  •  1/2 ounce simple syrup or Patron Orange Liquor
  • Tajin for lining the rim of the glass
