I know it’s been popular for several years, with the brand Golden Goose really kicking off the scuffed-straight-from-the-box look, but it doesn’t look like it’s going away any time soon (BTW Golden Goose has pre-soiled sneakers for $1,500 right now…)
Other brands have indulged on the trend and Gucci is the latest fashion house to offer up lowbrow footwear at insane prices.
Meet the Screener leather sneaker.
Gucci is selling a pair of sneakers that are purposely made to look dirty for a price that feels downright grimy. https://t.co/O2cwyvrEAu

Yes, you too can sport this look for a mere $870! Who has time in our busy modern life to dirty their own sneakers? Just have a luxury fashion brand do the work for you.

On one hand, I’m happy about this trend, because I can wear my dirty sneakers (that I’ve actually wrecked myself) out and about with pride and call it FASHION. On the other hand, this is a trend that signals to others that I have so much money to waste that I can buy pre-crusty sneakers and thing nothing of it.
Would you wear the Gucci Screener?0
