Tom Holland struggled to let go of his Uncharted character when he started filming Spider-Man 3.

The 24-year-old British actor plays treasure hunter Nathan Drake in the upcoming big-screen adaptation of the hit PlayStation video game, and the adventurer is a far cry from his onscreen persona as the nerdy and shy teenager Peter Parker.

Tom confessed that he inadvertently carried some of Drake’s tough characteristics with him when he headed to Atlanta to start shooting the third Spider-Man movie and was called out by film producer Amy Pascal when she realised what he was doing.

“I was doing this scene (in Spider-Man 3) where I’m walking into this building and there is this cool cinematic shot pushing in behind me and Amy Pascal took me aside and said, ‘Why are you walking like that? You’re walking like a man; you need to walk like a boy,'” he told Screen Daily.

“I went back and watched the monitor, and I could see I was walking with a swagger and confidence. (Director) Jon Watts was like, ‘It’s fine, it’s Nathan Drake. We’ll iron him out and get Peter Parker back,'” Tom laughed.

The upcoming untitled third instalment in the Marvel/Sony reboot of Spider-Man is expected to hit cinemas in December, while Uncharted, which also stars Mark Wahlberg and Antonio Banderas, will be released in February 2022.
