It’s always tempting to opt for pink or red when choosing nail polish colours at the salon.

But don’t be afraid to branch out when it comes to your next appointment, as a range of striking and bold finishes inspired by celebrity manicures are set to dominate the upcoming season. Read on for details of the top three nail trends to check out now.

Green goddess

After showcasing a shiny emerald green manicure at the 2022 Screen Actors Guild Awards, and an olive-green set on Instagram more recently, Selena Gomez has sparked a trend for gorgeous green nails of late. Celebrity manicurist and Mylee brand ambassador, Tinu Bello (@tinubellomanicurist), is certain green is the way to go.

“Bright green was hot for summer, and while green remains a huge colour trend, it will now move to rich, cosy olives, deep hunter, and khaki greens,” she said. “This goes perfectly with the autumnal palette of browns, nudes, rust and burgundy. Go for a high-gloss, block colour and your manicure will match with everything in your wardrobe.”

Tinu is a fan of Mylee So Far So Green Gel Polish, a creamy teal green shade. Other options to check out include NAILS.INC’s Plant Power Vegan Nail Polish in Wipe the Slate Green, a cool Army green, or OPI’s Infinite Shine in Olive For Green.

Pretty in pink

If a full Barbiecore-inspired outfit is too much for you, why not consider tapping into the trend with a hot pink manicure? Top nail polishes to check out include Leighton Denny’s Happy Place, a deliciously deep, warm pink with a 75 per cent plant-based formula and a wide brush for an effortless application. You can also check out Mavala’s 172 Vegas Pink, an eye-catching blue-based pink with a cream finish that suits all skin tones.

Cool coffee

Light brown shades are about to be all the rage! Taking inspiration from the light brown manicure Jennifer Lopez sported on her wedding day to Ben Affleck, Tinu recommends considering “oat milk nudes, caramels, and warm, roasted browns” when contemplating this trend.

The manicurist likes Mylee’s Caramel Gel Polish, a warm-toned neutral shade, while other top picks include OPI’s Espresso Your Inner Self, a mid-brown colour, and Essie’s 426 Playing Koi Nail Polish.
