It was just announced that Twin Cities Pride 2020 will be postponed.
“With growing uncertainty around COVID-19, Twin Cities Pride organizers have made the decision to postpone 2020 Twin Cities Pride celebrations in June, including the Pride Festival and the Pride Parade.
The health and safety of all who celebrate Twin Cities Pride remains our first priority.
These decisions have been incredibly difficult for us to make. We are heartbroken for our 400 amazing vendors and small business partners who help us make Pride successful each year, on top of the tens of thousands of visitors who come from across the world to celebrate with us. Our organizers and volunteers have already spent countless hours exploring every possible option for us to celebrate Pride safely, and we are eternally grateful for their dedication and continued hard work.
While the Twin Cities Pride Festival is one event, Pride is a movement. We celebrate Pride in June to commemorate Stonewall, and as our biggest fundraiser, the Festival helps support our efforts throughout the year. Our hearts go out to everyone affected by COVID-19. We appreciate your understanding during this challenging time. As we continue to monitor federal and state recommendations, we look forward to updating you on alternate options to celebrate Twin Cities Pride.”
