The Voice of Kermit for 27 Years Will Be Leaving The Muppets!

What happened to the actor who has been doing Kermit for almost 30 years?  If this is a retirement, it seems a bit abrupt.  Steve Whitmire  began work on “The Muppet Show” in 1978 after Jim Henson passed away, and no longer will be working with Muppets.

Replacing the veteran voice actor is Matt Vogel,  the third puppeteer to take on the voice of  Kermit the Frog since the character’s creation in 1955.  Who knew Kermit was that old! He seems forever young to us.  No word on who will be doing the other voices that Steve Whitmire does,  including Rizzo the Rat, which he created, and Beaker, which he inherited.  Here is a video of Kermit and Beaker (Both done by Whitmire!)
