Brace yourselves, if you thought we’d even scratched the surface when it came to uncovering the havoc caused by Harvey Weinstein, it’s only just begun.
It was announced late yesterday (coincidentally the birthday of Harvey Weinstein) that the Weinstein Company had failed in efforts to sell off the company and has officially filed bankruptcy. In addition, all nondisclosure agreements have been nullified. Meaning that anyone who signed an agreement preventing them from reporting or speaking about the unspeakable acts Harvey Weinstein committed is no longer bound by that contract. These agreements were signed both by people who had been victimized directly, but also those who witnessed acts. All of them, null and void.
This is huge. These women will no longer be silenced.
. @AGSchneiderman just got The Weinstein Company to agree to release the victims of and witnesses to Harvey Weinstein’s sexual misconduct from NDAs. This is a big deal. Our lawsuit & investigation are ongoing. #TimesUp #MeToo pic.twitter.com/2mnot4208j
